Design Process:
Initial research revealed that Avant Garde was a geometric sans serif and is the font for Adidas. I also discovered that Avant Garde was created for a magazine of the same name, published from 1968-1971.
This magazine handed me my color palette, because a rotating scheme of orange, blue, and pink was used constantly in the magazine’s various editions. While both the magazine and Adidas used the regular and heavier weights of the font, I found myself falling in love with the lighter weights, particularly way the uppercase and lowercase letters flowed into each other.
